Issues include poor dust collector design, operating conditions, dust type, improper fabric selection, excessive pulsing, moisture degradation (e.g., in cellulose media), high differential pressure, or prolonged temperature surges. Solutions vary by process; bag filter retrofits with extended surface area or using the right surface and chemical treatment can potentially improve capacity and prolong bag life.
No single material is best; it depends on particle size/type, fluid compatibility, flow rate, cost, and maintenance needs. Common options include polyester (durable for general use), PPS (for high-temperature applications like power plants), fiberglass (with treatments for abrasion resistance), and ePTFE membranes (for fine particle capture).
PM2.5 refers to fine particulate matter, tiny airborne particles 2.5 micrometers or smaller in diameter (much thinner than a human hair), including dust, soot, smoke, and chemicals, which pose significant health risks as they can deeply penetrate lungs and enter the bloodstream, causing respiratory and cardiovascular issues. These particles come from sources like vehicle emissions, factories, and fires, and their levels are monitored as a key indicator of air quality.
